I wrote this poem below specifically in reference to something that was
discussed on the ORU Hour of Healing show. Supposedly, they were
praying about something for another person (for them to be healed), and
Lindsay Roberts said God asked her if she knew ahead of time that her
prayer had been answered, what would she say/do? So, she thought, hmmm,
she'd probably run around shouting "Yahoo!"

Soon afterward, she was studying some scripture with somene else, and
they came across the word Yahoo (or perhaps it might be Wahoo - both
still can be used today as an expression of joy and excitement).
Supposedly in the original Hebrew, this meant "God is able." I don't
know Hebrew myself, so if anyone here can verify that or not, I'd be
interested to hear it. I know sometimes I've seen the word "Ja" in the
Old Testament referring to God, so maybe that's it. Anyway, it's close
enough for government work, as they say, cuz based on how it's
pronounced, even if it were "Jahoo", phonetically it's close enough.

So, God told her to say "Yahoo!" ahead of time, as if it were a done
deal. And at the same time she's using this word basically to show her
faith that it has been answered, she's also saying that nothing is
impossible for God, or for ourselves, if we believe. Jesus also
basically says the same thing in Mark 11:21-25, I think it is. He says
to believe when we pray as if our prayers were already answered and they
will be. That' s also what many other spiritual traditions say to do,
as well as more modern ones like the new agers (Deepak Chopra, Wayne
Dyer, etc.).

I even have a little paperback, written by some guy back in the '40's or
'50's, way before the New Age, on this same subject of absolute belief
without doubt. It's called "The Magic of Believing." One way he
suggests to help convince your subconcious to really believe something
without a doubt (cuz it's from there that things actually manifest) is
to repeat it over and over, and especially try doing it while looking at
yourself in a mirror (self-hypnosis?) Anyway, so if you ever see me
looking in a mirror and repeating "I Am Healed" over and over, I haven't
lost it, at least not yet!

Of course, one must not get attached to the outcome too much and
obsess over it. For one thing, the response isn't always immediate nor
clear. And not having your prayer answered just as you prayed it,
doesn't mean it wasn't answered. I think alot more incredible things
are possible by all of us if we simply believe it. Actually getting
healed from diseases, even as bad as PD, is just a drop in the bucket
once we learn how.
