I'm a caregiver and I would recommend Tasmar with frequent monitoring
of liver function before I'd recommend pallidotomy. Tasmar can be
stopped
any time and statistics show damage with most drugs if taken in excess
or
without controls. Pallidotomy is an operation which alters the brain
and is
irreversible. I am optimistic that a cure may be found yet, but should
that
occur in our time, I do not believe that the PWP who's gone through a
pallidotomy would no longer be a candidate for the cure.
I know several people who have successfully undergone pallidotomy, but I

also know some who are not much better than before the operation.
If the Tasmar therapy fails, the pallidotomy would still be an option.
There is perhaps a misunderstanding too that Tasmar and Pallidotomy are
not equivalent in their purpose. Talk it all out with the Movement
Disorder Specialist, the neurologist, before you take any action
Good luck
