There are several ways of making slow release medication. One of the
most effective method is to envelop small particles of the drug
formulation into a wax type substance, that is to say to coat a tiny
amount of the drug with this stuff which dissolves slowly in solution or
in the appropriate digestive tract. As the coating is slowly dissolved,
the drug is exposed to the digestive juices and processed further to be
eventually absorbed into the blood to be carried to the brain.
Your experience might be worth a try for some, but as you mentioned,
eating is certainly expected to interfere with your program. Barbara
who's up to 90 lbs. may not be a good candidate for This experiment.
