Onderwerp: Re: Mirapex switch to Permax(pergolide/meysylate)

Hi Jeanette,

>> Since Mirapex is making me extremely sleepy <<

I have had the sleepy feeling and the sudden sleep attacks with REquip.
Since I stopped it a few weeks ago it disappeared completely again.

I used Permax for about 2 years, no sleepy feeling.
The neuros advice is IMO a good advice.

Permax or Sinemet:
- the long term side effects are well known (dyskinesia).
- recent study found that dyskinesia is more frequent in women than in man.
- as far as is known now long term Permax use gives no dyskinesia.
- a certain level of dose Permax can stay longer at the same level, but an
comparible dose of Sinemet with the same effects needs to be raised faster
to maintain those effects. (long time wearing off).

Hans.
