At one time ECT was frightening to watch. the first time my father had it it was a true convulsion the second time the technique had been improved. No real convulsion or at least the kind I was used to ( worked on psychiatric unit for a while ) What I can say it that it saved lives. I think it saved my fathers life twice and he thought so too. He has since died of other causes. Gary I am very sorry it did not work in your fathers case. It is so hard to lose a parent. Nita
