Janet, oh-dear-Cyber-sis-of-mine....

I have no doubt it's my software (Microsoft's Outlook Express
5.0), which is set to the most generic, simple, vanilla text"
setting. All other settings regarding email have been set to the
most plain generic settings -both for incoming and outgoing
messages 'cause it takes my Parkie-eyes so darn long to adjust to
any changes in fonts, background, fancy-schmancy designs, etc..

I imagine that if I phoned Microsoft's tech support line they
could step me thru formatting my email program to eliminate any
undesirable (to me, anyway) settings, but I just plain don't
wanna spend $20 or more sitting on hold for a half an hour paying
long distance phone rates just to get my email program tweaked for
one or two relatively minor problems (in the grand scheme of
things)

I figured that with 1800 List members, SOMEONE would be able to
come up with a quick-fix and that would be the end of it.
