Dopamine agonists are the new kids on the block and due to patent laws will
probably not become available in generic form for another 8 to 9 years.

The "Prescription Drug Fairness for Seniors Act" would help lower drug prices
for seniors. The bill now has 100 co-sponsors, but has been blocked in the
House Ways and Means and Commerce Committees.

Congressman Martin Frost (TX) conducted a study and found that "seniors paid
an average 97% more than favored customers (federal govt, large HMOs) for
the 10 drugs most commonly used by seniors and an average 109% more for the
top 5 most commonly used drugs."

If the bill passes, pharmacies could purchase prescriptive drugs for Medicare
recepients at the same discount price as the federal government and other
favored customers.
