Paul, I ma only one year older than you, but I have faced this thing now for
many, many years. I saw my son go from birth to school, to barmitzvah, and now
this summer he graduated from High school - and I couldnt sit still, and I
walked around, but the ceremony went on, and he graduated just the same.
But if I had to dwell onthe serious aspects all the time - i dont think i
could have made it. Its that sense of the ridiculous that keeps me going.
Being able to laugh at myself, and to make others laugh with me is  my way of
handling the situation, of not being buried under the immensity of it all.  If
I had to think of the medical billls I owe, and my son needs surgery, and my
social security checks  have stopped......Well lets just say that Porky
Porkinson, the Parkinson Pig  makes life much more fun. !
Yes of course I read the list for information - but I love the fun bits too.
Don't you ever turn to the funnies in the newspaper - or at least to the
entertainment section ?
