Dear Marcia--- I feel I must modify Jim's comment below about cutting the Sinemet as I believe you said it ia a 50/200 CR pill. There is some disagreement about the advisability of cutting the Controlled Release type, as that defeats the purpose of the CR feature, at least in part....AND BESIDES it is NOT necessary---the neuro can prescribe the CR in 25/100 strength, so it is a "half dose" without cutting it !. As for his comment about getting another neuro, right on! A movement disorder specialist (MDS) ia a neurologist who is experienced and expert (hopefully!) in PD etc., and this can be important as the run-of-the-mill "general" neuro may not see enough PWPs to really understand the fine points of the disease---all PWPs being so different in their requirements. The easy way to find a MOVEMENT DISORDER SPECIALIST is to dial 1-888-400-2732. This toll free number will ring in the American Parkinson Disease Association Information & Referral Center. Hope this doesn't confuse you further! Jim wrote: > And, YES, you can cut the pill in half.
