"Nobody takes me seriously", cried Porquetta, stampiing her foot. "Nobody is listening to what ii am saying", she flung out at me. "Nobody cares" she sobbed, throwinig a full tantrum, which my daughter Jessi caught in mid air and added to her own considerable collectiion. "What on earth is going on?" aasked Jessi. She had never sen a pig lse its temper before, and believe me , that is some sight. I explained to her, that Porqueetta is a pig with an agenda, and as such expected to be taken seriously. That she had made her agenda known to the public, but that she was not getting muich of a response. She was very frustrated, for in her youth and innocence and exhuberance, she thought she need just have a good cause and automatically there would be followers. Sh is learning that hard lesson that while many people are ready to be told things that need to be changed, and will readily agree, there are not many who are ready to do. ANd those few are probably already doing so much that they cannot absorb any more. ________________________________________________________________________________ LATER........LATER.........LATER........LATER.........LATER.........LATER....... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Much jubiliation in the Blue /porkinson household/pigsty Porquetta says she couldnt have wished for better timing for this interestiing letter to appear. Noting that her huiman (me) has had three pregnancies with PD - One before diagnosis, one during which I was diagnosed and one on full medication, she finds it very significant that at last someone is paying serious attention to this situation. And if I may put in a word on my owwn behalf, be it known that I am ready to assist in asy way that i can to further this line of research. (NO, I take that back. In any way but one. I am not perepared to go through another pregnancy!) Hilary and Porquetta
