wow!
that makes you one of the newest 'newbies'
to grace these shores

i highly recommend reading three articles mentioned in my website
[see below] in the PIEnet/words/nuggets section
particularly the 'psychosocial' one for new 'diagnosees'

you've had one heck of a shock
although you may have had symptoms building up over a long time

my unsolicited advice is
learn as much as you can about pd
there is a lot of mis-information 'out there'
becoming our own advocates can be a matter of survival

my unsolicited reassurance is
you couldn't get pd at a better time in history
pharmaceutical and surgical options and treatments
have grown by leaps and bounds in the past 10 years
and show no signs of stopping
'cure' is no longer a word
uttered by loonies
in la-la-land

>I have been a vegan for the last 4 years and now feel that
>lifestyle helped caused my PD because of a lack of B12...

anything's possible
and nothing is proven
there could be multiple influences
i would venture a guess that attributing 'blame'
is part of the grieving process that we all have to work through

>My main discomfort comes from getting cold hands
>when the weather drops to the 70s and I start to
>shiver and shake. and my body temp goes to 95.
>My thyroid checks out OK. Dr. has no answer to why
>it happens.

thermo-regulatory problems are a secondary symptom of pd

is your doctor a neurologist?
or a movement disorder specialist?
preferably one who specializes in pd?

what are your symptoms like?
have you started any medication yet?

i'm glad you found us
we are living proof that there is life [and how!] after pd
