Sorry folks, in my haste (typing online, near dinnertime) I inadvertently left a statement about FHF that is much too scary- It should read: If the blood tests show ALT or AST elevated, then Tasmar should be withdrawn (but not too fast). The original criterion was 5 times normal level, it is now 3 times normal or perhaps less. If for some reason FHF should occur despite the precautionary testing, the patient still may be rescued if a partial or complete liver transplant can be done in time. -- J. R.
