In reply to the slap with a wet noodle from Mary Ann and Charles Meyer I offer: 1) Your reference to interns and residents. the person who changed Cec's sinemet was a (supposedly ) full fledged practising neurologist who was called for a consult for the stroke. I feel that she was unethical in changing the PD without checking with either our MD or Neuro 2) Hospital medication schedules. When Cec was admitted and I gave the head nurse a written schedule of her meds, she said " No problem" When I discovered the screwed up schedule they offered no excuse or explanation. I would gladly have suggested a schedule more acceptable to them and still suitable for Cec. As for her taking her meds by herself, I would like to point out that my lady is 79, had cancer 3 years ago and on Aug 7 1998 had a massive stroke. She relies on me to see to her meds. As of this date she sometimes takes them herself but is not reliable, I have to continuous check. I forgot to mention that in another hospital stay this past year, I discovered that the pharmacist took it upon himself to change one of her medications . Our family doctor agrees with my indignation and assures me that in the event of any future hospitalization he will see to it that any schedule that I provide will be carried out. I fully appreciate the " other side" however I was never offered any objection to the written schedule that I gave them. Bob Anibal
