Joao Paulo - As a resident of Kansas, I can tell you that the furor over this issue is just beginning. We have reason to hope that this resolution will be shot down in the courts. Meanwhile, most educators will continue to teach science just as they always have, complete with theory of evolution. It might interest you to know that you weren't far wrong in thinking next they'd be saying the world is flat. I understand that this group of fanatics asserts that the theory of gravity is "not proven," and may indeed believe that the earth is the center of the solar system. The school board members who voted this, after being deadlocked on the issue for 2-1/2 years, consists of a number of people who got into office by concealing their affiliation with the radical right. It will teach us, I hope, to be more vigilant in whom we elect to office! << The board of education in Kansas is accused of taking the state back 100 years as it votes to drop Darwin's theory of evolution from the curriculum. I suppose that next they will state that the Earth and NOT the Sun is the center of ours system... :-) Cheers , -- +----| Joao Paulo de Carvalho |------ + | [log in to unmask] | +--------| Salvador-Bahia-Brazil |------+ >>
