Joan

I have had this surgery too, 3 years ago as an experimental research at
Oregon Health Science University. Since I wrote my story for the web page I
have been told that it is a STN DBS. Recently my battery died and I feared
paying the $12,000 for a new one but my insurance has agreed to pay for the
replacement.

It has been replaced but it still isn't adjusted as well as the first one.
It took almost 2 years to get the best adjustment.

After you read my web page (address at the end of this email) feel free to
ask me any questions.
