Hilary, I don't know about if the chemicals would affect PWP or not but I'm curious how they determined you had fleas? and the exterminator says you don't? If you have to have the house exterminated, I'd suggest that it be done as early in the morning as possible, wait a couple of hours then let someone open all the windows, turn on fans etc. to let the house air out for 4-6 hours. (I have to do this for my husband and son, they are asthmatic) Check at Walmart or similar store for a "Flea Trap" It has a little light and a sticky pad. Get several to put around your house. If you have those little beggars then they should get caught at night. That should be proof for the exterminator.....maybe he/she can then contact the social worker with a note about the results of a "Professional Inspection" for rodents/bugs in your home. As for the squirrels, you might try checking with your local Animal Control or Game Warden to assist you in getting rid of these. A lot of times they will do this for free. (at least here in Texas) Wish I could help more.
