Dear Listfriends, In our struggle for the search for the cause and the cure we all would like to increase the efforts so we can all benefit the "cure". According to the scientists, the cure is just a matter of time and money. That the cure will be found in the next 5-10 years is without any doubt. But with (a lot) more money we might be able to decrease the number till 4-9 years or even less. That is sad, because we don't have that money, and it is nice if we can do something about it. Maybe it is not true, and does the science need the time after all. I realize that I bought time by having my pallodotomy, and I enjoy every moment of it. I also realize that every "extra" dollar is maybe a second closer to the cure. Now I am going to make a very risky calculation but I like to quantify the time we can buy. Suppose we can buy one year with $100,000,000. Then we can calculate the cost of a second by deviding that amount by the seconds in a year. So that makes $100,000,000 / 365*24*60*60 = $100,000,000 / 31,536,000= $3,17 per second. With this in mind I can do something. It gives me a handle to decrease the time needed for finding the cure. $3,17 per second is an awful lot of money. But I can do something. I want to raise $11,412 with breaking the Guinness Book Of Worldrecords Bowling with three hours and make it 28 hours. I will strike out the old record and bowl $11,412 together in order to decrease the time till they find the cure. I will try to bowl 300 games with an average of 150 points per game. Therefore I will roll the ball 6000 times over a length of 720,000 feet, lift 84,000 lbs and walk 30,000 yards. I will bowl about 750 strikes and 1200 spares. The date is October 29 - 30, 1999. The event will be helt in the Lake Air Bowling Lanes in Waco, Texas. But.....I think a worldrecord has a value of much more than $11,412 !!! A worldrecord which is recorded by the TV, radio an writing press should be worth multiple times that amount. So I ask your help listfriends to get more sponsors to support this event.
