In regards to taking political action, each pwp should do what he/she can.
I write letters to my congressmen, letters to my local and the larger city
papers, ask for signatures on petitions that PAN has sent and have sent
letters ready for signature to my relatives addressed to their
congressional rep/senator. I use the sample letters from PAN or offered by
other listmembers as examples.

All my senators, representatives have responded, 2 or 3 favorably. Two of
my relatives received favorable response letters from their senators.
Calling the congressional offices also can be effective, esp. if you geet
the name of the aide who is familiar with health legislation. Then, get
that aide's name and extension so you can keep talking w/the same person
whenever you call.

The names, addresses, phone #'s of a congressional rep/sen can be found
at:<http://www.thomas.loc.gov/> Just click on either house or senate
directories. Now you are on your way to being a grass roots advocate for
Parkinson's disease research!
