Hi Barbara,
I had a similar pain in my leg which stemmed from sciatica from
my back.  I believe when your gait is off (as mine was for so long)
and you have difficulty
walking, it throws everything out of kilter.
(I eventually had to have a back fusion.)  I'm not saying
this is your problem, but you may want to check out
your back with someone.
