Results of the spinal tap and the MRI show an abscess or an infection in the swollen part of the brain. No tumor. His neuro is moving him to ICU to monitor closely while stepping up the antibiotics considerably. He is in good spirits, eating well (!), and seems to be responding well. Likelihood is that this is not shingles at all. Carole & Ted :-)
