I do not wish the debate to end, for what is evolving is a sense of strong
individual values, all of which were repressed with the rise of Fascism and
other forms of Dictatorship. That happened because folks stopped or were
stopped from individual expression and question. Silence is a form of
condoning. I agree with Charlie's expression that he is respectful of
others ideas and would request that be shown to those who of us who agree
with him or not agree.

I would like to suggest to those who believe that Moral laws are absolute
to read Karen Armstrong's Book on the History of God. Professor Armstrong
points out that all religious beliefs and accompany value sets are an
emerging and tuning of values in terms of time and place and knowledge.
Unfortunately there are those who wish to " kill the heathens" defined as
anyone who does not believe as one feel they should. There are a few
religious groups that restrict their activities and behavior for
themselves, they do not demand that others do the same. There are those
that do not wish to avail themselves of medical knowledge and are protected
by law to do that, and there are those who wish to benefit from medical
knowledge and the law protects that right of choice. It is clear that most
of us do not want to have others
define what is right for all the rest of us. To those who do not wish to
take the fruit of knowledge that is their individual "moral" choice, but it
is not moral for you to decide for me.
For that is my choice and my responsibility.

Descartes said, reactively recently, " I think therefore I am" in response
to the question, "How does one know they exist ?"
