I can't answer for Merlin, but I can tell you I had the same problem with "very
drowsy and swollen ankles". Over a four month period I took meds to reduce
swellling,didn't work. Had a MRI scan, showed only minor arthritis and
tendentious, Dr. put ankle in a cast for one month, didn't help, Stopped taking
Mirapex (1.5mg per day) and two days later swelling and pain in ankle were gone,
that was about three weeks ago, My tremors are a little worse but I'll take the
swap. I think sinemet is the only med. that is time proven to be the most
effective for the most people. I would think long and hard before giving it up,
but PD and the meds effect us all differently.
