Charlie,

Bravo!  no one knows the mind of God on this or any other matter.  Anyone
who pretends to is guilty of blasphemy.  All we can do is examine every
moral question for every possible perspective and hope that whatever
position we arrive at is a reasonable one.  William Temple, the great modern
Archbishop of Canterbury once said:"It is a mistake to suppose that God is
only, or even chiefly, concerned with religion."  My spin  on that statement
is that God is concerned with Humanity, not how we organize ourselves to
relate to God.
