Dear Sherry-- So, in addition to being a PWP you are ALSO a CG for a PWP! I see you as a CG even through your mom is not living with you, because that is her expectation, and yours. It sounds as if you are struggling to set appropriate limits in how much of her care you can still provide, and helping her to learn that others CAN do for her, not just her daughter. This is hard--but necessary in your situation. I wonder if you would like to join CARE, for the CG part of your role? While it is not usual for PWPs to be on CARE, there are one or two other members who are insimilar dual roles. It is of course necessary to remember that on CARE you would "wear your CG hat". Think about it, and let me know. > I still have a full time job and a Mom who requires much daycare. I'm lucky >to be able to still work, however, it is becoming very difficult. >Stress/keyboarding/fatigue etc is keeping me down. But I need the $$$ so I >will keep trying to do my best until they kick me out! Mom is another >issue...she also has PD and lives in an assisted care retirement home which >is very close to my home. She won't allow them to help her, only her >daughter can do those things! Well I can't do all those things any more so >we are working through that whole mess too. Enough complaining....I need to >get out and do my exercises! > >Thanks again to all who care...Sherry Camilla Flintermann, CG for Peter 81/70/55 Oxford, Ohio http://www.newcountry.nu/pd/members/camilla/one.htm <[log in to unmask]> "Ask me about the CARE list for Caregivers of Parkinsonians !
