As a person who gets poison ivy easily, I take Prednisone to clear the rash and quell the itching. I did notice last time when I had to visit the emergency room since it was a weekend, that the "double dose" of prednisone the ER My movement disorder specialist saw me for a reg. checkup while I wwas experiencing this and explained that steroids which is what Prednisone is can make a person paranoid and recommended cutting the dose back to the "old treatment method" of 2 weeks at a lower dose. Guess that's why athletes who are "pumped" on steriods can be violent and/or moody. There is a definate feeling of euphoria and super energy when taking prednisone for the short term and in doses appropriate for what ails you. Like any drug, there are side effects that should be heeded. Felt WIRED - anxious and was glad to finish the prescription. Told my Dr "wish they could "discover" a pill that only had the GOOD feeling!!! MARY E SANFORD [log in to unmask] Ocean City Md 21842
