There is a probable causal relationship between p210 (SHIP2) protein
tyrosine kinase activity and the manifestation of chronic myelogenous
leukemia. SHIP2 is a unique SH2-domain containing protein closely related
to phosphatidylinositol polyphosphate 5-phosphatase. SHIP2 like SHIP1 are
linked to downstream signaling events after activation of hematopoietic
growth factor receptors. PI3 or phosphatidylinositol 3 and PI2 are
implicated in growth-factor mediated signaling. - SHIP2 - Pub Med

Breakpoint cluster region - Pub Med - Chronic myelogenous leukemia is
fundamentally a genetic disorder, specifically a somatic cell genetic
disorder which has environmental causes.

Retinoic Acid Receptor, Alpha, RARA - Acute promyelocytic leukemia, the
breakpoints in 10 APL cases were shown to cluster in the 12-kb region on
chromosome 17. See Wells 1997 and NUMA1 for discussion of a RAR/NUMA1
fusion protein associated with APL.

Tretinoin - is a retinoic acid -
3,7-dimethyl-9-(2,6,6-trimethyl-1-cyclohexen-1-yl)-2,4,6,8-nonatetraenoic
acid.
It controls the differentiation and proliferation of many types of cells
including dopamine cells.

(This is why I think dimethylamine and trimethylamine might have something
to do with Parkinsons.)

mouse - Pub Med

Characterization of RAC3, a novel member of the Rho family - Pub Med. Rac3
is an active GTPase, and this activity is regulated by Bcr or breakpoint
clusters.
