Edie Answer - (c) all of the above . . . and more The Parkinson's Unity Walk is "endorsed" by the National Parkinson Foundation, the American Parkinson Disease Association, the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, the Parkinson's Institute and the Parkinson's Action Network. Each one of these organizations pays a modest fee to help underwrite the event. Most of the expense is covered by corporate sponsors, charitable foundations and individuals. Every dollar donated to the Parkinson's Unity Walk, other than sponsorship, goes to research projects approved by the endorsing organizations and the promotion of PD-directed research in the case of PAN. Unless otherwise specified, donations are split equally among the endorsing organizations. Contributors do have the option of designating a specific organization as the recipient of their funds. Roughly 5 to 10 percent of contributions are so designated. OK, it's a bit complicated but we are serious about advocating for a united Parkinson's community and promoting cooperation when and wherever it will shorten the time til there's a cure.
