University of Toronto at Mississauga, Professional Writing
Program, invites
applications for a tenure-stream position in Professional
Writing at the
rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2000.
Demonstrated
excellence in research in communications and/or
communications pedagogy and
in the teaching of composition/rhetoric is sought.
Candidates should have a
Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Communications, or English with a
rhetoric/composition
concentration. Preference will be given to applicants with
teaching and
research interests in Computer and Internet Communications
and in Writing
Pedagogy. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate
courses in the
Professional Writing Program and graduate courses at OISE/UT
(Ontario
Institute for Studies in Education) in the Department of
Curriculum,
Teaching and Learning.  Salary will be commensurate with
qualifications and
experience.  Applications, including a Curriculum Vitae,
teaching portfolio
or dossier, a statement of teaching specializations and
research interests
should be sent to Professor Gary Crawford, Associate Dean,
University of
