Teresa - I think your mother will be pleased with the results of the STN. In not, remember that it's reversible! Bilateral pallidotomy is *not* recommended! Have you looked in the archives for info on pallidotomies, specifically complications associated with bilateral ones? Good luck to you and your mother. Margie Swindler
