If the PWP has difficulty with freezing or gait hesitancy then the following "walking stick" may be helpful. This is a do-it-urselfer. go to your local hardware store and purchase a 4' and a 1' section the lightest grade pvc pipe available (it's called schedule 20) or cut a 5' section appropriately. You will also need a right angle or corner fittiing and a small can of PVC glue. Follow directions on the can and glue up the three pieces (4' section, right angle fitting and 1' section) into an "L" shaped assembly. how to use the pvc L shaped walking stick: experiment to see which side is easier, for example hold long end of "L" in right hand with cross piece on floor in front of right foot, step over the cross piece and as the left foot advances simultaneously advance the cross piece from in back of the right foot to once again in front of the right foot. Repeat with gait cycle. PVC is very light weight yet sturdy enough for this purpose. For a more professional "cane-like" look wrap the PVC pipe with black electrical tape. Use at ur own risk i.e. be careful - a little new found mobility is potentially hazzardess, Good luck, Tom
