Hi Ervin, Psyllium is a fiber, which would certainly aid with constipation; I've not heard of using black walnut hulls before, but I'd imagine that would count as some type of fiber. Cascara is a powerful laxative, which should not be used on a regular basis. Irish moss is a type of fiber. The rest of the ingredients are herbs with which I have little familiarity; I'm not aware that any of them are fibrous. Fiber is generally a good idea, particularly psyllium. I couldn't speak for the herbs. Cascara, depending on how much is present, has the potential to injure the colon. I think, myself, that psyllium in a form such as Metamucil would be cheaper. You could add a generic multivitamin/mineral such as your doctor might recommend. I would try not to use cascara; although its laxative effects certainly bring relief, it's better to get advice from your doctor on safe compounds, stool softeners, etc. My very best regards, Kathrynne ERVIN J MCCARTHY wrote: > > Kathrynne, thank you for your response.
