It was once told to me, but i cant remember by whom , and so cant vouch for
its authenticity or accuracy - that the aspartame which sweetens most diet
drinks is a very large molecule, like propteins, and therefore, in much the
same way would intefere with the absorption of the sinemet. Now, I last
studied biochemistry  30 years ago (gosh , did biochemistry exist then?) so
this explanation makes a sort of sense to me, but  i have no way of knowing if
it is really so!
