Wendy, There is no absolute maximum amount of Sinemet. The effective maximum will vary from patient to patient. There is one man from our local support group who has been cut back to 19 Sinemet tablets per day [plus agonists, eldepryl, & amantadine]. I think your mum would do better with a little more - but not a lot more. Doses 4 hours apart might do her a better job. You did not say what the dosage every 6 hours was. Will Johnnston A.P.D.A. This is because my mum has been taking Sinemet but experienced dyskinesia and her doctor has changed to Madopar which is also another kind of levodopa but the dosage seems not enough to cover the six hourly break.
