NO! It ain't so!  Actually Aspartame is a dipeptide that hydrolyses (breaks up)
into two simple amino acids.  These are the ones that compete with L-dopa (levo
dopamine), another amino acid.  Amino acids are relatively small, much smaller
than a bread basket(?).
