Hi,
My name is Helga and I am a new voice on this list even though I have read
and enjoyed the listings for a while. I am 62 years old and was diagnosed
with PD at age 49 after 2 years of wondering if my symptoms were
psychosomatic or real. I am now on a regimen of Sinemet, Permax. Tasmar (I
was one of the original test people) and Symmetrel and at this point feel
pretty well adjusted.

What I am writing about today are involuntary shivers I experience
throughout the day. They are like shudders when you feel cold, except they
go through my whole body all the way to my legs, somewhat like a current.
Neither my neurologist nor the GP seem to have an explanation, they just
smile and shrug them off as unimportant. They are obviously not life
threatening, rather an annoyance and sometimes embarrassing, mostly
puzzling. One likes to know what's going on in one's body.

These shivers may have nothing to do with PD but I thought I'd check with
you to see if one of your many members has experienced something similar.

Thanks, Helga
