My mom has Parkinson and has on-off depression spells. I want to try St. John's Wort for the depression. It's supposed to work as well as Paxil. It's used a lot in Germany for depression. However, the literature I have read on St. John's Wort says it may, stress may, have some MAO inhibitor action. You can't give an MAO inhibitor with Sinemet or it can cause seizures. Has anyone used St. John's Wort for their depression from Parkinson with Sinemet, and has it worked out O.K.?
