I as a retired psychiatrist strongly second Janet's opinion. Clinical depression is a serious illness and especially when you are planning to mix St John's Wort with other PD meds I think you are looking for trouble. If your mother will not go to a psychiatrist ask her neurologist to consider something for depression or possibly her family Dr. but have someone evaluate and treat her bedsides yourself.
