I think L-Soft sent out such a strong message to inform people who are on lists on L-Soft's servers that their lists won't work at all. That won't affect PARKINSN or CARE, or any of the other lists. LISTSERV does have some system where all the Listserv installations in the world chat to each other, and can send mail for their friends (this is the reference to "LISTERV backbone"). This dates from the mainframe world, I don't know how much its used these days. I doubt PARKINSN would be affected, perhaps a few people will see some delays in their messages. Uni. of Toronto listserv admins will know more, but unless they tell you anything specific, I wouldn't worry about it.
