Hi Drew,
Glad you found us and I think you will be glad you did too. You will find
this list has many young onset people that have gone through the same things
as you. While this is comforting it's also a little scary (I liked your
poem) to know so many young people are fighting this horrible disease. You
will become more informed on PD and what to ask your doctor. I am learning
to be more aggressive with my doctor and it really blows him away when I
throw out some term or medication I learned about on the list.

My first impression about you was the problem you were having with your
doctor was greater than accepting the PD. You should ask your doctor to
refer you to a neuro who is a movement disorder specialist. These are
wonderful doctors who specialize in things like PD and know all the latest,
well worth the switch to a understanding doctor. I know I had to change dr's
too.

Don't worry about your sister, family members are usually the last to accept
PD. My husband still thinks I will get better soon! Don't rush them, it's
hard for them too.
Maybe all the California people should get together and go to Disneyland,
can't you just see us now? Well if you can stand in those loooong lines
you're way ahead of me even on a good day!!!!

Keep writing it good for us,

Sherry
