hi cyber-sib!

and thank you for your kind words

the TOPICS feature has been slow to catch on
partly [i think] due to its introduction in the middle of a list kefuffle
but i am hammering away at it

i agree with you about its potential

i think all of the options offered by the upgraded LISTSERV software
can help us get a tad more efficient and 'user-friendly'
[i can't believe i just used that expression!]

we have definitely seen a recent upsurge in newbie numbers
so i will be re-posting updated TOPICS 'how-to' instructions every two weeks

don't forget the list archives search-by-e-mail option
if you are looking for anything on a specific subject
the new search mechanism is much simpler to use:
i am re-posting SEARCH 'how-to' instructions every two weeks as well

also if it's of any use to you
my NEWS: and PMID: items always have the TOPIC name on them

you could limit your subscription to those two TOPICS only
if that would be of any assistance in keeping 'in touch'

[in re PMID items, i am consciously working towards
getting every PubMed article which deals with PD
posted into our list archives]

i am also using my web-site as a complementary 'adjunct' to the list
i have collected some 'threads' or 'stories' there
which i feel are important enough to be
'pre-mined' from the archives

thanks for writing
