In the data presented on the website I could find no credible data which
counters the assertion that I have made (as has the manufacturer).  The
matrix will dissolve related to the surface area of the pill that is exposed
.  That does not say that there isn't  an advantage to doing it because by
delaying the timed release at all you naturally prolong the higher blood
level. Chewing the pill or allowing it to dissolve totally before it is
ingested would almost totally  cancel out the delay effect but one can  get
an immediate effect  and then delay some of the effect  by breaking the
tablets.  I suggest that you do what works for you for whatever reason.
