First and formost, I want to thank everyone who has been praying for us, and everyone who sent cards and angels. I keep getting tears everytime I see the love and support you have to generously given me. I also want to apologize to the people who called if I sounded rude or rushed, for some reason the only calls i ever get are just when the doctor is coming to talk with me, or when i need to keep the line clear for surgery. I don't know where to start with the thank yous, Hilary who has kept my spirits up with her calls, and cards (and a Porky Parkinson pig for me), the wonderful beautiful angels which have arrived from all over the world, the special blanket and pillow for sitting next to my Lady, all such wonderful gifts, and at a time when I wasn't sure I was going to be able to live through. As I'm sure most of you are aware, Dawana took a turn for the worse last week, and for several days it looked very much like she wasn't going to make it. I asked the doctor last Wed about using a hyperbaric chamber on her wounds, and while he wasn't thrilled with the idea, he started treatments for her on Thur - today her most pessamistic doctor told me things are looking better. We have a very very long way to go, and we know from her fever she still has an infection, but today they gave me hope. The first hope in ten days or more. I tend to write when i get nervous, and besides filling up a notebook and a half with letters to Dawana, I also wrote a few poems. I don't know how to send them without sending them as attachments, but i sent a few to the list elf, and maybe she will be able to post them on the list. While i am in Tyler (if everything goes well she will be in icu another 2 months) I am getting all my mail at [log in to unmask] Thank you mist lom for the gift of getting me back on the list.... and if someone can tell me how to do sparkle, i will be back on line with all my friends. It's been amazing to my parents and hers how many generous people are sending us prayers and love. I wasn't amazed - I have seen the love from the list in action before, but i was humbled and so very thankful for all your support.
