I am writing to find out if anyone has had surgery at or been to UCLA? I went with a friend to see Dr. Masterman there, who we immediately felt comfortable with. We have an appointment to see the surgeon, Dr. De Salles, for a consultation regarding either pallidotomy or deep brain stimulation. It would be nice to give my friend some more feedback about these doctors. I have been to three other hospitals with my mother and with this friend. I felt good about UCLA, it seemed to compare with the experience at USC, where my mom had her surgery. Second question.... has anyone noticed the pallidotomy affecting memory in a negative way.
