Dear Janet, The term '"complete symptomatic relief" is used in medicine. E.g. complete symptomatic relief can be achieved with medication for migraine, sleep disturbance, pains etc. Bilateral STN for PD in my experience almost reaches complete symptomatic relief in several of my operated patients (and this is no joke).
