"BUBBLEBOY" VIRUS CAN LAUNCH ITSELF

Anti-virus experts are warning of a new type of computer virus that can automatically launch itself without having the recipient first open a virus-containing e-mail message or attachment. The so-called "bubbleboy" virus (named after a popular "Seinfeld" episode) does not inflict serious harm, but is programmed to mail itself to every e-mail address stored on a computer. It takes advantage of a utility found primarily in Windows 98 and 2000 that enables certain kinds of programs embedded in e-mail messages to automatically execute when displayed in the "preview pane" of Microsoft's Outlook Express.
