To many list members their spirituality and or religious beliefs
are as important a part of their lives as is their Parkinsons.
Denying that is similar to an episode of freezing or operating
withou a limb! If we are as tolerant as we appear to be by an
occasional reference to a PWPs "point of reference," it makes one
wonder if this is really a "support group." I find the group
atmosphere to be so dominated by a few individuals that it
possesses a kind of philosophical (maybe pseudo religious)
fervor/flavor that is at times unnerving. Many PWPs fall back on
their religious beliefs as a means of relaxation, meditation or
coping, which can be of assistance to others. I for one
integrate thoughts from all religious views, if they can assist
me in dealing with my reality. The anti-religious fervor of this
group's moguls borders on intolerance. I do hope this group is
democratic.
