Debbie,
Another option is to Forward the message.  That way the
email program does not fill in the "To:" address but
leaves it blank for you to enter the address.  The
address you want will be listed in the "original
message" "From:"

Highlight the address and click copy;  then click in the
To: area and then click paste.  (copy and paste either
will have icons or will be in the Edit menu)

Is there some way to write to people privately when they
don't give their
e-mail addresses?

I don't like clogging up the list with personal items,
but I cannot figure
out how to reply to anyone besides the list. THanks.
