Cari, Is he taking 1/4 of a 25-100 or (25 mg of levodopa) or 1 25-100 tablet which is 100 mg l-dopa? The 25-100 tablets contain 25mg carbidopa and 100 mg l-dopa . The speed of absoption of l-dopa from the gut is variable and depends on such factors as food present, gut motility, and other factors Also crossing the blood brain barrier also effects symptoms and that is effected by protein intake. So you see the setting of a schedule that will be predictive is almost impossible- although some people claim to be able to do it. What is the frequency that he takes his Sinemet at this point and how long has he had PD and taken Sinemet?
