Ann---I too have had some peripheral swelling but it was in reaction to a drug taken n connection with a different disease. Our family physician expressed some concern. But for a different view our neurologist rather likes the peripheral swelling. He maintains that it stabilizes the blood pressure at a higher level. which in my case is an effect he wants.
