In fact, tricyclic antidepressants such as Elavil or Toframil are recommended (Duvoisin, 4th ed., p.72) as possibly working even better when combined with levodopa (Sinemet) therapy in depressed PD patients. I still think, BTW, that mood swings due to the intermittent nature of levodopa dosage are too often mistaken for clinical depression; but that's a completely different topic. Returning to dystonia, even the rare exception from the Precautions paragraph is wrong, in my haste I misread "dyskinesia" as "dystonia". Anyway, the substance of my posting remains: The particular kind of dystonia reported by Marty (whom, incidentally, I have observed in person) has not to my knowledge been associated with Sinemet, although something like it may occur in the absence of PD.
